The Sail tree

A typical Dutch harbor landscape

The Sail tree

Drift off to sleep gently rocking on the waves of the sea in the themed room ‘de Vaarboom’. This bright, spacious themed room combines all the charm of a boat journey with the comforts of a hotel room. Rinse off the salty sea under the wonderfully large rain shower in the separate bathroom and enjoy the typical Dutch harbor landscape depicted in lifelike paintings. Even the history of Dutch harbors can be admired in the form of The Brandaris, Hotel New York, and the Veersche Toren on the sky-blue walls.

Yggdrasil

Whoever enters the Tree of Life – also known as Yggdrasil in Norse mythology – steps into a different world immediately. The Tree of Life symbolizes the endlessly branched form. Its roots anchor in the underworld, crossing through the human world, while its branches reach into the realm of gods and heroes. The room features a (rain)shower and a separate toilet.

We do it for the environment, but the recognition is nice!

If you make conscious choices to be a hotel as green as possible, you do it from an ideological point of view. Hotel de Plataan is self-conscious of her duty to make a green fee. We do this for ourselves, but the recognition we see as a compliment and as motivation to improve this even further.
